Program Instructors (year 'round)

Part-time and On-call Positions only at this time

Qualifications:

• Post high school education (at least 2 years suggested)
• Desire to work with children and adults
• Ability to accept guidance and supervision
• Good character, integrity and adaptability
• Sense of humor, patience and self control
• 18 years of age or older

Responsible to:
Assistant Camp Director/Programs

Camp Duties

• Lead classes at Rawhide and Help train new instructors
• Assist in ranch maintenance during off season
• Oversee an animal care area
• Work with animals
• Assist in evening programs when necessary
• These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be assigned and other duties may be assigned as required

General Responsibility
Assist in all aspect of the camp program. Lead certain specialty classes and activities. Make sure that the guests have a safe and fun time.

Essential Functions

• Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill level), and provide necessary levels of instruction to campers.
• Ability to observe camper behavior assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavioral management techniques.
• Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
• Ability to endure the daily rigors of ranch work and outdoor adventure instruction. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Raking
  • Llifting repeatedly at least 75 lbs
  • Standing for periods of time
  • Pulling/pushing heavy objects and animals
  • Painting
  • Climbing ladders
• Ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid.
• Ability to identify and respond to potential and actual hazards
• SALARY: $8.00 - $8.50/hour plus room and board if desired
