Looking for a Group Overnight Program?

Ranch Program Opportunities For Youth Groups

Midweek School Program -
Wednesday thru Friday (
September — May)

as of Feb. 1, 2010

$190/person

Rawhide Ranch has been serving area schools since 1963.   This unique overnight experience offers students the chance to experience life science at a real working quarter horse ranch in an authentic Western town setting.  Rawhide Ranch is proud to be nationally accredited by the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) and the American Camp Association (ACA) assuring our participants that we meet the highest of safety standards for equestrian facilities.

The program best serves 4th-8th grades. The daily schedule includes classes focusing on animal and horse science as well as western-style horseback riding and vaulting (gymnastics on horseback) lessons.  Students get to experience the inner workings of the ranch during daily animal care time in our stock farm & stables.    The evening activities include group games/activities for all campers.  If your group needs a quiet spot for a special activity, we are more than happy to arrange for a location on the ranch following the evening activities.  During the final day of your program all students will participate in a horse/animal show in our indoor riding arena.

Campers and their chaperones are assigned to a variety of rustic housing areas (covered wagons, bunkhouses, dormitory-style, teepees). Meals are included in the fee, with our professional chef preparing home-cooked meals.

Minimum group size is 25 people with a maximum group size of 100 people (students + chaperones).  If group size is less than the maximum we reserve the right to book another school/group during the same session.  Each school will also be asked to provide a current certificate of liability insurance with Rawhide Ranch as an additional insured.

The traditional weekend program ends with a horse/animal show in which all campers participate.   Rawhide Ranch provides all program activities for the Traditional Weekend Program.  Each group must include a min. of 2 adult chaperones.

Great for...................

  • Scout Groups
  • Youth Groups
  • Church Groups
  • School Groups

Campers and their chaperones are assigned to either cabins at Fort Rawhide or the Olde Schoolhouse depending on group size. Cabins are outfitted with wooden bunkbeds/covered mattresses and overhead lighting. The modern shower/restroom facilities are located immediately adjacent to the housing areas. Youth participants must have reached their 7th birthday prior to the group’s event date.

*The group's reservation must be made under the auspices of a sponsoring organization (i.e. Scouts, YMCA, etc.) who will be able to provide the necessary Certificate of Liability insurance paperwork.

Note for Cub Scout Leaders - Please check with your specific council office for approval procedures & details BEFORE making a reservation for Cub Scout dens/packs.

For more information on the Traditional Weekend Program or available dates email Julie at julie@rawhideranch.com or call (760)758-0083 x 103. (Wed-Fri mornings are best.)

Here's another weekend program option for groups not looking for an animal focused program..........

Teepee Village Program (Sept/Oct; April/May)

$105/person (youth & adult) - min. fee applies, see below

Teepee Village Program is available to youth groups* ranging in size from 16 to 48 participants. The program is designed for groups looking to do the majority of their own programming but wanting a unique location. This program opportunity at Rawhide Ranch includes 2 nights lodging in the Teepee Village, 4 meals, archery instruction, craft class, and Saturday evening campfire. The group will also have one horseback riding lesson (beginner) on Sunday morning before departing.  The program includes plenty of time in the schedule for self-led activities that you will add to enhance your group’s experience.  (For example, a Girl Scout troop recently took advantage of the Teepee Village Program to work on their video production badgework, combining their own pre-planned badge activities with our program activities, using various venues around the ranch as backdrops for their video.)

Minimum age requirement is 7 years of age.   If your group size is less than 16 people there is a min. charge is $1600.  We do not schedule more than one group per weekend for the Teepee Village Program to give you the most flexibility in planning your activities.  If you have a small group you might want to consider asking another group to join you.

*The group's reservation must be made under the auspices of a sponsoring organization (i.e. Scouts, YMCA, etc.) who will be able to provide the necessary Certificate of Liability insurance paperwork.

For more information on the Teepee Village Program email Julie at julie@rawhideranch.com or call (760)758-0083 x 103. (Wed-Fri mornings are best)
